Supporting the Health Protection Division, including Street Outreach, Sexual Health and Infectious Disease programs, the Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class (RNEC) and holds a certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). The Nurse Practitioner (NP) has advanced knowledge and decision-making skills in assessment, diagnosis and health care management. The NP will work to their full scope of practice while participating within an interdisciplinary team in the development, implementation and evaluation of Public Health Services with a special focus on infectious disease prevention and management within equity deserving populations
The NP works as part of the mobile street outreach program to provide direct comprehensive care to clients with specialized and complex needs based on enhanced clinical knowledge and skills. There is a special focus on infectious disease prevention and management within vulnerable populations including people who use injection drugs and those who are homeless/under-housed.
