The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is seeking a full-time contract (December 2024- June 30, 2025) Program Assistant in the Vaccine Preventable Disease Program.  The Public Health Program Assistant provides various clerical services supporting Public Health programs. Working in a multi-disciplinary environment, the Program Assistant performs those functions as related to the daily operations and delivery of the Programs, ensuring that discretion and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit is seeking a full-time permanent Public Health Nurse in our Geraldton Office. Reporting to the Manager, Oral Health & Visual Health Programs and District Offices, the Public Health Nurse is responsible for providing public health programs and services on health protection, promotion and maintenance, disease and injury prevention and community participation and development. Public Health Nursing practice is based on the model of primary health prevention and is population focused.

Supporting the Health Protection Division, including Street Outreach, Sexual Health and Infectious Disease programs, the Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class (RNEC) and holds a certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). The Nurse Practitioner (NP) has advanced knowledge and decision-making skills in assessment, diagnosis and health care management.
