Outbreak Over: Hogarth Riverview Manor

The outbreak of gastrointestinal illness at Hogarth Riverview Manor – Lavender Resident Home Area (2 North), located at 300 N. Lillie Street, has been declared over this morning at 9am. All restrictions have been lifted.

The Health Unit is urging people to stay at home and refrain from visiting hospitals and long-term care facilities when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable: young infants and children, the elderly and those with other chronic illnesses.

February 25, 2019 - Officials at the Health Unit and Pioneer Ridge, located at 750 Tungsten Street, have now declared a facility wide gastrointestinal outbreak.

February 24, 2019 - Officials at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Southbridge Pinewood, located at 2625 E. Walsh Street, have declared a facility-wide gastrointestinal outbreak on February 24, 209 at 10:30am.

February 16, 2019 - The Enteric Outbreak that identified Norovirus on the Acute care side of Geraldton District Memorial Hospital was declared over February 16, 2019 at 10:00 am. All restrictions have been lifted.

The new and revised Canada’s Food Guide (CFG) was officially released last Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019.
