February 21, 2023 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Southbridge Pinewood confirm that the respiratory outbreak at Southbridge Pinewood – Blue Heron Unit, located at 2625 Walsh St. E, has been declared over. All outbreak restrictions have been lifted.

TBDHU recommends the public refrain from visiting hospitals, long-term care facilities and other high risk settings when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable and at higher risk of severe outcomes.

February 10, 2023 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Southbridge Pinewood, located at 2625 Walsh St. E, confirm that a respiratory outbreak has been declared at Southbridge Pinewood – Blue Heron Unit, in Thunder Bay.

All admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities have been cancelled on the affected unit until further notice. Visitors are restricted to family members and caregivers only. Please call the facility for more information.

February 1, 2023 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Hogarth Riverview Manor in Thunder Bay. The outbreak is restricted to Birch Grove Resident Home Area (1st floor).

The Health Unit is urging people to stay at home and refrain from visiting hospitals and long-term care facilities when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable: young infants and children, the elderly and those with other chronic illnesses.
