August 19, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Southbridge Pinewood, Hummingbird Unit, confirm that the gastro outbreak located at 2625 Walsh St E has been declared over. All restrictions have been lifted.

TBDHU continues to remind people to refrain from visiting high-risk settings, including hospitals and long-term care facilities, when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to the most vulnerable. The Health Unit reminds the public to prevent getting and spreading infections by:

August 19, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group announce that the outbreak at Hogarth Riverview Manor, 2 South, Bluebell Resident Home Area, in Thunder Bay is now over.

Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.

August 18, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Southbridge Care Homes confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Southbridge Roseview, Primrose Unit, in Thunder Bay.

August 11, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Walford Thunder Bay confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Walford Retirement Home, 1^st Floor, in Thunder Bay.

August 10, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Southbridge Pinewood, located at 2625 Walsh St. East, confirm that a gastrointestinal illness outbreak (non-COVID-19) has been declared on Hummingbird Unit, in Thunder Bay.

All admissions, transfers, discharges and social activities have been cancelled on the affected unit until further notice. Visitors are restricted to family members and caregivers only. Please call the facility for additional information.
