October 3, 2023 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Chartwell Thunder Bay Retirement Residence, confirm that the respiratory outbreak (COVID-19), located at 770 Arundel St., has been declared over. All outbreak restrictions have been lifted. 

TBDHU recommends the public refrain from visiting hospitals, long-term care facilities and other high risk settings when feeling unwell to avoid spreading infections to those most vulnerable and at higher risk of severe outcomes.

October 2, 2023 - Both influenza (flu) and COVID-19 vaccines will be available starting this week for community  members in the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) area. The initial roll out for both  vaccines will occur over October with a focus on high-risk individuals, in alignment with  provincial direction. Vaccines will be available to the general population beginning at the end of  October.
