Province Moves to Step Two of Reopening on June 30

June 24, 2021 - The Government of Ontario has announced that the province will be moving to Step Two of its Roadmap to Reopen starting at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. This applies to the entire Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) catchment area.

The Roadmap is a three-step plan to safely and carefully reopen the province and gradually lift public health measures based on province-wide vaccination rates and improvements in key public health and health care indicators.

Vaccine Changes Made Due to Delay in Pfizer Vaccine Delivery

June 21, 2021 - This past Saturday (June 19th), the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) was informed that the supply of Pfizer vaccine expected for the week of June 21st would be delayed by two to three days.

To accommodate this unexpected supply change and ensure all individuals currently booked for vaccine can get their vaccine, TBDHU is switching several clinics to Moderna vaccine.

The following clinics in Thunder Bay will be administering Moderna vaccine and not Pfizer as previously indicated:

Increased eligibility for accelerated second doses of COVID-19 vaccine and Interchangeability of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines

June 20, 2021 - On Thursday June 17, 2021, the Province announced the accelerated rollout of second dose eligibility for COVID-19 vaccines.

As of the morning of Monday June 21, individuals who received their first dose of an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) on or before May 9th are eligible to book an appointment for a second dose.
