May 30, 2021 - On Friday May 28, 2021, the Province announced the accelerated rollout of second doses for COVID-19 vaccines. Due to timing of vaccine supply, TBDHU is issuing the following instructions for individuals 80+ to book their appointments for their second doses.

For individuals who are 80+ and now eligible to book their second dose appointment and who had their first appointment at the CLE Coliseum through the TBDHU Immunization Clinic:

May 30, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is advising workers of the Baffinland Mary River Mine, located on Baffin Island, Nunavut, of a potential high risk exposure to COVID-19. Anyone who worked at the Baffinland Mary River Mine since April 30, 2021, is at risk of exposure.

Anyone within the TBDHU catchment area who has returned from the Mary River Mine site since April 30, 2021, is asked to:

May 29, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 9 (nine) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 42.

May 28, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 18 (eighteen) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 33.

May 27, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 5 (five) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 19.

May 26, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 1 (one) new COVID-19 case in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 17.

May 25, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 4 (four) new COVID-19 case in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 24.

May 22, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 4 (four) new COVID-19 case in residents in the TBDHU Region. Current active cases is 25.

May 21, 2021 - This afternoon the Province announced youth 12 years and older will be able to get appointments for COVID-19 vaccination through the provincial booking system starting Sunday May 23 at 8 am.
