Neighbourhood Clinics and Youth/Family Clinics – Available for Booking for 12 + years

May 31, 2021 - Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU), in collaboration with various community partners, is expanding opportunities for everyone 12 and older to get their COVID-19 vaccine.

“We want to enhance access to the COVID-19 vaccine and make it easier and more convenient for people to get it,” said Dr. Janet DeMille, Medical Officer of Health. “We have neighbourhood-based “pop-up” clinics coming up and we encourage anyone in those areas who is eligible for vaccine to attend. In addition, some targeted youth and family clinics have also been set up.”

Second doses of COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 80 years and older

May 30, 2021 - On Friday May 28, 2021, the Province announced the accelerated rollout of second doses for COVID-19 vaccines. Due to timing of vaccine supply, TBDHU is issuing the following instructions for individuals 80+ to book their appointments for their second doses.

Potential High Risk Exposure to COVID-19

May 30, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is advising workers of the Baffinland Mary River Mine, located on Baffin Island, Nunavut, of a potential high risk exposure to COVID-19. Anyone who worked at the Baffinland Mary River Mine since April 30, 2021, is at risk of exposure.

Anyone within the TBDHU catchment area who has returned from the Mary River Mine site since April 30, 2021, is asked to:
