COVID-19 outbreak declared at St. Martin Elementary School

February 22, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board confirm that an outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at St. Martin Elementary School in Thunder Bay.

Consistent with provincial guidelines, an outbreak is declared in a school when there are two or more COVID-19 cases in students or staff that can be linked within a school setting. At this time, one additional individual associated with the school has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual is deemed to have acquired the infection in the school setting.

COVID-19 Outbreak Declared Over at Thunder Bay Correctional Centre

February 20, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is announcing that the outbreak at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre in Thunder Bay is now over.

Ongoing planning and work is being done with the facility and the Ministry of the Solicitor General to ensure all measures are in place to protect the staff, inmates and the community going forward.

COVID-19 Outbreak Declared Over at McKellar Park Central Public School

February 20, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Lakehead Public Schools confirm that the outbreak of COVID-19 at McKellar Park Central Public School in Thunder Bay is now over. 

The period of heightened surveillance due to the recent cases at McKellar Park Central Public School is considered over.  No additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified and there is no evidence of additional spread within the school setting.

COVID-19 outbreak declared at Westgate CVI School

February 19, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Lakehead Public Schools confirm that an outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Westgate CVI in Thunder Bay.

Consistent with provincial guidelines, an outbreak is declared in a school when there are two or more COVID-19 cases in students or staff that can be linked within a school setting. At this time, one additional individual associated with the school has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual is deemed to have acquired the infection in the school setting.
