COVID-19 Outbreak Declared Over at Hogarth Riverview Manor – 4 th Floor (Lilac and Iris Resident Home Area)

January 25, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group announce that the outbreak at Hogarth Riverview Manor (HRM), 4 th Floor (Lilac - 4 South and Iris - 4 North resident home area) in Thunder Bay is now over.

Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place at HRM to reduce likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.

COVID-19 Outbreak Declared at BISNO – Cumberland Place

January 24, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and BISNO confirm that an outbreak has been declared at Brain Injury Services of Northern Ontario (BISNO), Cumberland Place in Thunder Bay.

The outbreak declaration is being made as two individuals associated with the facility have recently been confirmed to have COVID-19. BISNO has implemented the necessary precautions to limit spread and TBDHU will continue to monitor and assess the situation.

Successful Campaign to Deliver COVID-19 Vaccine in Long-Term Care Homes

January 22, 2021 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) announces that the first round of vaccinations in all long-term care in homes in Thunder Bay for all eligible residents is complete, with approximately 95% of residents receiving the vaccine. This important milestone in the fight against COVID-19 was done in partnership with the local Long-Term Care Homes and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC).
