October 26, 2020 - Motor vehicle crashes are the second-leading cause of death among Canadian youth ages 16 to 25, and alcohol and/or drugs is a factor in almost half of those crashes. Impaired driving means operating a motor vehicle (such as cars, trucks, ATVs/ORVs, snowmobiles and boats/water vessels) while the ability to do so has been affected to any degree by consuming alcohol, drugs or a combination of the two.

October 13, 2020 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is encouraging everyone to get their flu shot this year. Influenza, the ‘flu’, causes significant illness and deaths in Canada every year and getting the flu vaccine is the most effective way to reduce this risk. The upcoming flu season is further complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic. With the two viruses circulating, the risk to individuals is greater especially for those at higher risk due to age or underlying medical conditions.
