October 17, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and Southbridge Care Homes confirm that a COVID-19 outbreak declared at Southbridge Pinewood has been expanded to include the Sandpiper Home Area, in Thunder Bay, and is now considered a facility wide outbreak.
TBDHU has initiated a thorough assessment of the situation. Further measures will be taken as needed to manage this situation.
October 17, 2022 - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and St. Joseph’s Care Group announce that the outbreak at St. Joseph’s Hospital, 4 North, Hospice and Palliative Care, in Thunder Bay is now over.
Prior to the outbreak, significant measures were already in place to reduce the likelihood of transmission of the virus within the facility. Expanded precautions were implemented for the duration of the outbreak.

October 16, 2022 - Due to an issue with the supply of the Pfizer bivalent COVID-19 vaccine for the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU), this vaccine will NOT be available at the CLE Coliseum clinic on Monday, October 17.
All other COVID-19 vaccine products, including the Moderna bivalent vaccine, will continue to be available at this clinic, including on Monday.
A further update on the availability of the Pfizer bivalent vaccine will be provided on Monday afternoon.

October 11, 2022 - The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has confirmed the presence of blue-green algae in a water sample collected at Open Bay on Lac des Mille Lac on October 04, 2022 (located approximately 120 kilometres west of the City of Thunder Bay). The MECP is conducting toxin analysis on the water sample.
